To enter into the complex surfaces of the paintings of Andrew Hart Adler, is to enter into an archeological mound of civilization. Layer upon layer give glimpses of different dimensions, different influences of ones life, or different aspects of the Universe. Indications about the enigma of life like the partial images of an old fresco which have to be completed by the imagination.
Adler is driven by the convictions of his personal path. His travels and interests in different cultures and philosophies, have been synthesized to form his own very unique visual language. it is a pantheistic vision composed within a musical structure, where crescendos of form and color provoke emotions.
Ultimately, Adler feels that his work is an excercise of humility and love where he gives thanks to his greatest creations, his children. Also, to the source of his inspiration, the berber muse of his heart and soul. |
